Borregaard ChemCell has pursued a long-term strategy to achieve its current position as a leading supplier of advanced speciality cellulose qualities.
	Continuous product development and modern, flexible production plants enable Borregaard to supply a broad range of cellulose qualities where the focus is on viscosity, brightness, purity, density and reactivity. Its most important customer categories are manufacturers of cellulose derivatives (ethers and esters) and micro-crystalline cellulose. Borregaard's chemical expertise provides a sound foundation for supplying specialised products with properties that generate added value for customers.
Ethers Borregaard ChemCell holds a leading position in cellulose for specialty ethers. The major market for this type of cellulose is carboxy methyl cellulose (CMC), methyl cellulose (MC) and hydroxy ethyl cellulose (HEC). Examples of important end-uses demanding high quality specialty cellulose are constructrion and building products, food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetic and personal care, paper coating, oil drilling and coatings.
